"San Simone, sapore di Montasio" ("S. Simon, the taste of Montasio") has been held regularly in Codroipo in the last weekend of October since 1993.
Tens of thousands of people invade the town during the two days of the S. Simon's feast to visit the big Montasio cheese market exhibition that reached its seventh edition in 1999. The whole centre of Codroipo, with its big town square and the adjacent streets, plays host to the large stand of the Consortium for the Protection of Montasio Cheese and the gazebos of the producer partners.
It is a unique occasion to taste and purchase this typical cheese of the eastern Friuli and Veneto regions.
